Under the hood
Privacy backed by controlled local storage.
On supported Android devices, Access Code protection uses a separate encrypted compartment and a native, biometric-gated key.
Authenticated encryption
Protected channel records are sealed with AES-256-GCM. Tampering or the wrong key fails authentication.
Hardware-backed authorization
A strong biometric authorizes an Android Keystore operation. StrongBox is preferred, with a trusted execution environment when unavailable.
Fail-closed transitions
If enrollment, migration, or recovery cannot be verified, the app does not silently open or hide the channel.
What protection means
Hiding changes what appears in the app and protects supported records on that device. It does not erase recipient copies or guarantee resistance to a compromised device or specialist forensic extraction.
